Skiing in Tyrol is diverse and rewarding for beginners and experienced skiiers alike.  Family skiing holidays in the Tyrolean Alps offer something for all ages.

Here are some tipps to make the most of your winter skiing holidays in the Tyrolean Alps.

Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding

Kirchberg is in the heart of the Kitzbuehel ski area and the pistes are just a short distance away from Haus Alpenblick.

Skiing holidays in the Tyrolean Alps are full of variety!

The immediate ski area is vast 170 kilometer's of groomed pistes and 53 cable cars and lifts.

Additionally, the regional ski area accessible with the AllStarCard covers 10 ski region's within Tyrol and Salzburg and goes to a ski height of 3000m, giving you access to 1087km of pistes and 356 cable cars and lifts.

For snowboarders and freestyle skiers there are parks on the Kitzbueheler Horn, at Pass Thurn and in Westendorf. The new Horn Mini New School Park is ideal for snowboard beginners.

Beerski big day out!

Enjoy a day out with Chris, owner of Haus Alpenblick and Beer Sommelier. Ski or board from hut to hut and sample the best of whats on offer.

This ski safari Chris likes to call "Beer Orienteering", is a ski day with a difference.  Enjoy the best of winter in Tyrol and contact us to get a quote for your ski holiday this year!

Off the Piste!

Extreme ski mountaineers, off piste fans and snowboarders will be delighted with the skiing in Tyrol.

For those who have done it before and those who are wishing to try off piste skiing, it is easily accessible and there are lots of areas that are good for beginners to practice their technique.

Cross-country ski tracks, Toboggan runs, Winter Hiking and Walking

Cross Country ski tracks

These well prepared tracks have 2 cross-country ski tracks and 1 wide skating track.  The tracks are graded and colour coded depending on the level of difficulty.  See the most beautiful areas of the Brixental and get fit at the same time!

Toboggan runs

Travel the 4 seater chairlift to the Gaisberg lift station and set free on a 5 km course.  During the day guests can use their ski pass to access the toboggan run and during the evening the piste is floodlit for guests to enjoy the thrills and spills of this well groomed track.  Ask one of our team to book a toboggan and for more info about our in house organised toboggan evenings click here.

Winter Hiking and Walking

Walking and hiking the enchanting winter landscape of the Kitzbuehel Alps is a delight for anyone on a winter holiday in the Tyrolean Alps.  There are trails in the valley and up high on the mountain.  Walk with Emma during the afternoon and indulge yourself on the traditional delicacies along the way.

Ice-climbing Park Gaisberg and Snow Shoe Tours

Try your hand at ice climbing at the ice climbing park on the Gaisberg mountain or talk to Chris and arrange a guide to ice climb in other parts of the Kitzbuehel ski area.  Snow shoe tours are easy to organise too, as is equipment hire.

Ski Hire, Ski Lessons, Ski Passes, Ski Guiding

There are several ski hire shops in the village, Guests at Haus Alpenblick are eligible for a discount at one of the shops.  We recommend you hire your equipment in the village rather than at home before you come because experience shows that its much easier to sort out any problems if you have hired your equipment in Kirchberg.

At Haus Alpenblick we arrange small groups for private lessons and also book our guests in to the regular ski school classes on request.

There are two main ski passes that we recommend to our guests.  The local ski pass "KitzSki and more-card" and the regional ski pass "Kitzbueheler Alpen AllStarCard".  Additionally, there is the Tirol Card and this is valid for 80 ski regions within the Tyrol.  The Tirol Card is a good option for those who ski often during a season and wish to try various ski resorts.

Ski Guiding is easily arranged and we suggest you contact us to arrange your trip!

Quantya and Paintball

For a fun afternoon or morning talk with the team at Haus Alpenblick and arrange to hire Quantya Electric Motorcross Bikes or to get a group together for Paintball.  Click here for more information.

Nearby Glaciers

Glaciers that are near by include: Hintertux Glacier and Kaprun Glacier. Glaciers have snow all year round and often in the summer we visit the Kaprun Glacier with groups of our guests.
